It seems that we live in a world where we hardly have the opportunity to be naked and real, but have to play certain roles. Like social roles, family roles, or hiding yourself. It's a choice that tends to avoid harm. It allows for more love and respect and circumvents unnecessary trouble. But it is disturbing, and an authentic, unreserved self becomes unreliable and insecure, to the point where I become sceptical myself.
In his book The Grapes of Wrath, the American writer Speck says: "A man's greatest fear is not death, but being ignored. To be seen, to be looked at squarely, means that we exist. Therefore, it is not wrong that people are happy to be seen. This coat can be used for experience, not self-binding.
